On June 7, Ambassador ENDO Akira called on the newly appointed Prime Minister of Iraq H.E. Mr. Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, and presented a congratulatory letter from Prime Minister TAKAICHI.
Ambassador ENDO stated that Japan and Iraq have long enjoyed friendly relations, and that he would continue to strive to further strengthen the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries. He also explained about the outline of Japan's assistance to Iraq and the economic relations between the two countries. The Prime Minister affirmed that Iraq’s doors are open to Japanese companies to invest across various sectors, particularly in major strategic projects, infrastructure, and economic sectors.
