Reception to Celebrate 66th Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan in Baghdad
On 8 February, Ambassador ENDO Akira hosted the National Day reception to celebrate the Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan in Baghdad. Officials of Iraqi Government, including His Excellency Dr. Hallo Mustafa Askari, the Minister of Environment and His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Bahr al Uloom, the Senior Deputy Foreign Minister for Bilateral Relations, and the members of diplomatic corps attended the reception. His Excellency Ambassador Bahr al Uloom delivered a speech as a guest of honor on behalf of the Government of Iraq.
Ambassador ENDO, in his speech, expressed his congratulations to His Majesty the Emperor on his 66th birthday on 23 February. He also showed his determination to further strengthen the relationship between Japan and Iraq after highlighting Japan's support for the reconstruction and development of Iraq, which Iraq is now in transitional period from a reconstruction phase to an economic growth phase.
