The Handover Ceremony of a Mobile X-Ray device to the college of medicine of Al-Anbar University

  1. On 18 February 2025, Mr. Akira ENDO, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Iraq, provided a mobile X-Ray device “FDR Xair”, manufactured by Japanese company Fuji Film, to the College of Medicine of Al-Anbar University during the handover ceremony held at the University.
 
  1. The mobile X-Ray device will play a pivotal role in early detection of diseases including tuberculosis, for people including those who live in remote areas of the governorate, and will save the people from falling into serious conditions. It will also contribute to a significant decrease in expenditure for healthcare.
 
  1. Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) is a development initiative designed to directly support communities by addressing various grassroots-level challenges, and to improve human security and enhance the quality of life through funding small-scale but highly impactful projects. Since 2003, the Japanese government has implemented more than 100 projects of this type across Iraq in a variety of sectors including the development of public infrastructure, healthcare facilities, education, public welfare, and landmine/UXO clearance.
