Japan always seeks for opportunities to contribute in reconstruction and development of Iraq in various areas. In this regard, we are pleased to inform you that one of renowned Japanese companies, Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC), has signed a new contract with Ministry of Electricity to construct a stationary electrical substation. TTC has played a significant role in developing power sector in Iraq since the opening its office in Baghdad in 1954.
This new project will increase the capacity of electricity to supply for approximately 1.9 million people in Babil governorate by March 2022 thorough Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) Loan by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as part of Japan’s assistance for the reconstruction of Iraq.
