Donation of 100 Sewing Machines to Female IDPs in Anbar Governorate by Brother Industry Ltd/Technostar

On 28 March, 2024, Brother Industry Ltd, the Japanese electronics company, and Technostar, the local agent of Brother Industry Ltd, donated 100 sewing machines to female IDPs in Anbar Governorate, during the ceremony held at the Embassy of Japan in Iraq. The beneficiaries have received vocational training funded by the Government of Japan and implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The collaboration between the donation and the vocational training both coordinated by the UNDP are expected to play a crucial role in empowering female IDPs and their families by providing them with the means to generate income and elevate their quality of life.
 During the ceremony, Ambassador Futoshi MATSUMOTO expressed his profound gratitude to Brother Industry Ltd. and Technostar for their invaluable contribution to society, stressing the importance of collarative efforts amongst different stakeholders such as Japanese company Brother Industry, local Iraqi company Technostar, and international organization UNDP for realizing sustainable development and human security of the vulnerable populations.
