Resumption of visa applications through designated travel agencies
The Embassy of Japan in Iraq and the Consular Office of Japan in Erbil are pleased to announce that both missions will resume accepting visa applications through the designated travel agencies in Iraq on 23 February, 2020.
The Embassy of Japan in Jordan and the Consulate-General in Dubai will no longer accept visa applications at their offices from Iraqi citizens without valid resident visas issued by Jordan or the UAE from 23 February, 2020.
Iraqi citizens who will satisfy at least one of the following conditions shall be able to submit their visa applications directly to the Embassy of Japan in Iraq or the Consular Office in Erbil.
(1) Iraqi citizens planning to visit Japan for diplomatic or official purposes.
(2) Iraqi citizens invited by the Government of Japan or the independent administrative agencies of Japan such as JICA, Japan Foundation, JETRO, etc.
(3) Iraqi citizens travelling to Japan under the Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarship programme.
(4) Other Iraqi citizens undertaking urgent trip to Japan for humanitarian reasons.
