Orientation meeting for Iraqi students who seeks to study in Japan
- On April 25, the Embassy of Japan in Iraq held the second orientation meeting at the Embassy, in cooperation with the Higher Commission for Education Development in Iraq (HCED) and the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE), for the Iraqi students, who seek to acquire the master’s and doctor’s degree in Japan. And three Iraqi students, who had acquired the master and the doctor degree in Japan, participated in the meeting and they told the students about their experiences in Japan. The meeting was held connected Baghdad and Tokyo with TV conference system. The first orientation meeting was held in 20 February, 2012.
- The Japanese side in Tokyo explained study program in Japan, foreign students’ daily life in Japan, Japanese culture and traditions etc. And it answered the Iraqi students’ questions through a TV conference system which is connected to Tokyo through the internet. The Japanese side also expressed willingness to welcome them in Japan and strengthen bilateral relation between Japan and Iraq.
- This orientation meeting is a part of the academic cooperation between Japan and Iraq, which is based on the Educational Initiative in Iraq to dispatch 10 thousand Iraqi students to study in all research areas at the world best accredited universities.
- The Embassy of Japan believe that the orientation meeting offered a good opportunity for Iraqi students to understand Japan, and it promoted the mutual relations between Japan and Iraq.
